1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and cut

Instructions

Place strawberries and sugar in a medium saucepan.

Whisk lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla in a small bowl.

Pour mixture over strawberries and stir gently.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until thickened.

Notes
Sauce thickens as it cools.
